What is beta-sitosterol?

Beta-sitosterol is a plant steroid (phytosteroid) that has a chemical structure similar to cholesterol. It is widely found in plant kingdom and can be absorbed from nuts, avocados and vegetable oils.

Uses of beta-sitosterol

β-sitosterol is under research for its possible effects on benign prostatic hyperplasia and blood cholesterol. As it is a steroid, it is a precursor of the anabolic steroid Boldenone undecylenate.
